Lance Hart : Quest For The Happy Pegging
Last year I had the chance to speak to Mickey Mod, who mentioned Lance Hart as a great kinky queer actor and producer to follow. Lance is 34 years old, got the cutest butt ever, and entered the gay porn industry just before turning 30 years old. He now produces some of the best femdom-ish and bi porn out there, advocating a more open-minded, women-oriented and ethical production.
The Domination / submission dynamic is playing a big role in your productions, do you particularly enjoy being a sub?
I guess so… I have a fetish for these kind of things, I’m into it, but also it tends to sale more. With my girlfriend I like being a dom, but to be honest there is other guys that are better at being a dom in porn, like James Deen, Wolf Hudson (who is also starring in submissives roles) so I’m much more focusing on the “sub” part for work. In most of my work I’m the sub, like on Sweetfemdom, on Manupbitches it’s a little bit of both but mostly I’m the sub. On Cumonyogapants, my new web, site there is not really any domination, it’s mostly only me cumming on girls wearing leggings
What’s interesting is, on your websites there is a lot of femdom but also more “neutral scenes” including strap on. Is there any other productions doing the same? On clips4sale maybe?
Yeah, sweetfemdom is like the sweeter side of pegging. A lot of it is not even femdom. Sometimes it can be ballbusting and humiliation but it’s usually just butt sex. Not so much on clip4sale but Evil Angel is also featuring “hook ups” with strap on babes, I worked with them a couple of time.
The thing is, there is only one word that make sense to qualify the act, its pegging, but it’s not a very common term, even if it’s the appropriate term. Sweet strap-on does not come out of the researches: if I want to see girls doing guys with a strap on, I’m going to google “girls doing guys with a strap-on” and probably find femdom, and find it attractive or maybe too rough and will associate forever butt sex with domination.
Well, basically what you are saying is, we need to come up with a new word to define “sweet love making male butt sex”?
Absolutely. There is no words, no tags that means “nice pegging.” Same when I’m doing bi porn: I have to think about how I will name it, how I will categorize it so people can find it right away. It’s hard to make an awareness of that. That’s why I’m on Reddit, on Fetlife, trying to let people know about happy pegging and bi porn: if you shoot something that is not common and not classified with a tag, no one will find it and then when they do, it might scare people away cause it’s not what they’ve been looking for. It’s the same problem for bisexual porn too, if I post a bisexual scene with two guys and a girl my sales drop. Straight guys don’t want to see gay stuff at all. On the other side it’s also hard to sell bisexual stuff to the gay market: they want to think that I’m gay, they don’t want to see me with a girl.
Kink.com compartiments its offers: Divine Bitches on one side, then Men In Pain and cuckolding on the other side, so people don’t get “lost” in categories offering content they don’t want to see. But they are able to do that because they are big enough. Where with me, I only have a bunch of little websites, so it’s still a work in progress.
What about the cuckold scenes? Does your audience watch it? Is forced bisexuality kind of alright for them?
It’s an interesting thing, when its forced its like more acceptable, but you’ll always have guys thinking “ aargh it’s a dude giving a blow job, boooh I don’t want to see that it’s gay” but they are okay with guys sucking out a strap on… They are not quite there yet. What I found in my experience is when I was 18 and I first watched porn, I was turned off by gay stuff, and then it changed progressively, people grow, you know, and now it’s a turn on.
You also said it was hard to find girls willing to do bi porn.
That’s true mostly in LA. If you are an actress, you want to move in LA and make big money. Once in LA you get contracts with agents, and they forbid you to do gay stuff. They are scared of STIs and AIDS. It does not make sense but it’s just the way it is right now. But I don’t think it’s gonna be like this forever. Porn is changing fast, within the next 5 years I’d say there will be as much porn in Florida than in LA.
Because of the measure B?
Yeah, but also because the economy is so bad that everyday 10 more people think “ Man I can’t get a job, maybe I’ll do porn.” So they start, and they love it, and they are like “Man I wish I did this the whole time.” And if producers in Florida find out they can make good money here, they’ll stay, and the agencies won’t have any influence on what’s going on.
But I do have more and more bi followers, especially men. What I found out is, a lot of women watch porn but not so many are actually ready to pay for it.
So you’d say that men are more willing to pay for porn than women?
Well, from what I can see on my own websites, there is very very few women. Whereas on fetlife I get so many comments from girls saying “I love it it’s so hot” “Such a turn on”… But it’s free. I’m not a woman so I don’t know, but I assume women can get what they need in their imagination, or that they can get off super quickly with a vibrator, few arousing pictures or a quick video on the tubes.
You just mentioned Fetlife, from what I’ve seen you are part of the very few persons in the business to use it as a promotional medium (Lance posts quite a lot of pictures from the shooting, and videos, visible only to the fetlife premium users).
Fetlife is a great way to get exposure (millions of users) , it’s also a great way to test my new productions and see if it is what people want, and get feedback. I also meet new models on fetlife.
Uploading a lot of free content and previews on the tubes or on fetlife helps to prevent piracy: the more free stuff I give away, the more I get traffic and purchase on my website. It’s both a way to recruit and retain customers.
Can you tell me more on your fetish for leggings and yoga pants?
I think that’s pretty common. A lot of guys I know love it, when they see a girl in the street in yoga pants, they just love it. And it’s so arousing because so many women wear yoga pants, to do sport, at the airport etc. Its tight, it makes your butt look nice, and it’s so common everyone can relate to it.
You were not part of the nominees at the Toronto Feminist porn awards. I read an article the other day saying that feminist porn must be done only by women and I disagree because I think your productions could totally be classified as feminist porn.
I hope so. I’m a feminist. I did not know it existed, you know there is so many events out there to attend. But that’s something I should look into. I don’t think it has to be done by women. I mean if you talk to ten feminists you’ll get ten different points of view on what it is. I feel like I’m a feminist, I want equal rights, I want women to feel empowered.
The whole nature of how I hire non professionals women is feminist: I seek for ads posted on websites like craiglist or backpages by women desperate for money, to pay their rent, or the bills, looking for escort jobs, or “massages” anything really, sometimes considering prostitution as their last chance.
Then I advertise for non-nudes dominatrix models and many times it works: women see my ad and they say “oh man, I can go and kick this guy in the balls and fuck him up with a strap-on and get payed more than if I was doing massages, and it’s legal, and safe!”
I try to help them out not to be vulnerable anymore, and teach them how to set up their own business so they don’t even need me. I have a system where they can have their own website, and I try to help them to be empowered and create their own little empire. Of course at the end of the day they still use their bodies but they don’t have to submit to anyone.
I guess if I were a woman maybe I could reach more girls, and never be suspected of exploiting them, but I’m a man and it is the best I can do.
You seem really implicated in helping out people to get in the industry. You wrote a couple of articles on that matter on your blog and fetlife profile.
My favorite thing is to find someone who is interested in working in porn but does not know how and help him or her out to do it in a safe, healthy and profitable way. I got in the sex industry when I was almost 30 so I was mature enough to know what I was doing, but if I was 19 again, I’d love to have someone giving me advices, especially as a submissive man. When I was 19 I was really naive and I could have been abused. I think that this industry as so many ways to grow, through bisexual porn, happy pegging, all kind of fetish, and unfortunately you’ll always find people willing to take advantage of others, and push them out of their comfort zone and try to lure them to do anything for a couple thousands dollars.
I ‘d rather think that if I can teach those guys to make a living out of their submissiveness they can earn way more than for a single scene. There is no college for porn, there is no class, so I guess I ought to help others people. And selfishly I guess the more people I help, the bigger my network is, and the more good porn I can make.
Will you shoot more scenes for Kink and with Maitresse Madeline?
Yeah definitely, anytime. I love Kink, they are like a family. I have so many friends there like Mickey and Madeline.
Do you know any french actor / actress?
I worked with one last week in LA, Anissa Kate, she was beautiful. It was for femdom empire, and I’m sure she’ll make great stuff in the future.
Well if you ever come in EU we can try to find some girls and guys for you to work with.
I’d love that. I need to make more money so I can make the trip!
