Porn Classic: The Cable Guy By College Humor

When I hear Cable Guy, I’m not thinking about the Ben Stiller’s movie with Jim Carey (even if it’s a very underrated movie). I’m just thinking about Cohen Brother’s masterpiece: “The Big Lebowski“, with it’s fake pornographic film inside the movie: “Log Jammin“. A Porn produced by Jackie Treehorn, where Bunny Lebowski and her half naked friend Cherry (cameo of Asia Carrera) have their cable fixed by an expert guy called Karl Hungus (he’s German and he’s also a Nihilist). It’s a pure representation of a random classic 80’s-90’s Porn and it is giving us one of the best Dude’s moment ever.

Cable guy, Pool Boy, Plumber or Gardener are parts of these cliche jobs falling directly into the semantic’s field of a perfect Gonzo. If we randomly pick up one of these professions, we can come up with a simple script:

A lonely girl has a problem with something at her place, she’s calling a company for help, they send a guy. This guy knocks at the girl’s door, she opens and she’s half-naked. She’s explaining briefly what the problem is, he enters in the house. Then, no extensive reparations  (to fix the primary girl’s problem) are involved in the following action.

College Humor gives us a very funny alternative to our script, in a short called: “If The Cable Guy In Porn Was From Time Warner“.
